The Hackney Empire are currently resident band at monthly London Tropical party Secousse which was started by Radioclit in 2007. They have recently played with artists David Byrne at the ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL; Radioclit, ORCHESTRE POLY RHYTHMO DE COTONOU; have had live collaborations with Afrikan Boy, Abdul Tee Jay and Papa Milo aka Emile Ogoo (S.E. Rogie and The Morning Stars / Super Combo)
The Last album by A.J. Holmes, 'The King Of The New Electric Hi-Life' (no: 40 in the Spex Magazine top 50 albums of 2007) was released on the 20th August 07 by Pingiung records. Holmes is also know as an African and Tropical music DJ and is a member of Secousse Sound System and resident DJ/promoter at Secousse club, London's main Tropical party, hosted by Radioclit and friends. http://www.myspace.com/secousseclub
