• While we're taking a breather and planning the next parties we thought we ought to bring you news of events and anything else that is rocking our world right NOW. So without further ado we have a film recomendation about the life and works of a musical inspiration of ours.
  
  Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell

  "Arthur Russell was a farm boy from Oskaloosa who moved to New York, via a Buddhist commune in San Francisco, where he worked and played with artists as fantastically varied as Philip Glass, Allen Ginsberg, Nicky Siano and Richard Hell. A pioneering disco producer, cellist, composer and singer-songwriter, he died aged just 40 in 1992, and is only recently getting the wide, often obsessive, audience he deserves. This film, a moving and absorbing portrait, uses rare archival footage and commentary from Russell's family, friends, and closest collaborators, including Glass and Ginsberg, plus plenty of his brilliant, beautiful dance tracks."
