This year, Gaymer’s Lost in the Orchard will be spread across two, inter-connecting areas at Lovebox – the Gaymers Stage and Gaymer’s Orchard field. The Gaymer’s Stage will be the same bespoke-built stage structure as 2009 albeit retaining a 5,000 capacity arena thereby creating a more intimate environment. The Orchard will be an adjoining copse full of unexpected musical moments connecting back to the Gaymer’s Stage field.
The tree house which is also back for 2010 will be positioned immediately facing the Gaymer’s Stage creating a unique viewing position. The new improved tree house will include raised seating areas and two bars all overlooking a magical space where pop-up performances, promenade theatre and where bespoke décor hangs from the trees. The main field will also include the Helter Skelter and a main service cider bar.
The Orchard, leading directly away from the tree house will host various smaller, micro venues such as the Gaymers Bandstand which will play host to a similar heady mix of weird and wonderful, participatory musical experiences, the Hurley Burley Cafe whose staff regularly break out into spontaneous song and the barn dancing tent.
Hosted by BEARDED KITTEN, the 2010 Gaymers Bandstand is proud to present an extravaganza of unexpected musical delights and a sprinkle of the best interactive 'get involved' acts in town. Situated at the heart of the fringe is the "Bandstand", an idilic open air stage hosting some of the finest brass, roots and hair raising music from around the world. Gypsy-fusion powerhouses, Balkan Beat Box will be flying in from New York for a UK festival exclusive and the stage is stacked full with home grown talent including The Correspondents, The Heavy and The Destroyers. Between music acts expect to take part in a whole host of ludicrously fun games courtesy of the Bearded Kittens. ........ If you're looking for a lively exciting show set in a beautiful cluster of trees this is the stage for you.
