The RGB's wil be playing Sunday on Gaymers Great Escape Stage
The RGB’s
This four piece electronic outfit - fronted by the formidable force that is Becky Jones - have been honing their unique sound, and tearing a power pop hurricane through the glamour of Ibiza’s nightspots via the grit of the Archway Tavern, for the past year. While influenced by Joy Division, Salt ‘n’ Pepa, CSS and the Klaxons to name a few, unlike most other bands, they don’t sound like anyone else before, during or after. Their unique mix of beautiful soaring vocals, catchy electronic tunes, uplifting performance and refreshing sense of fun (check out their tongue–in-cheek homage to Beyonce) makes for a party vibe at every gig. A blast of freshly synthed air that is rising fast; if you haven’t seen them yet, you will.
Who are they?
Becky Jones – Lead vocal, bass synth.
The voice of Kate Bush, the body of Superwoman, and the energy of a force 9 gale. When not lecturing music at a London Conservatoire, or running a 50 piece choir/beatbox collective (no kidding), Becky performs like every gig is her last. Quite frankly, you can’t take your eyes of her.
Harriet Roberts – Backing vocals, synth.
Don’t be fooled by Harry’s angelic face, she is a trained actress and untrained stand up comedian. When she’s not playing keyboards and singing that is.
Claire Oliver – Backing vocals, synth.
Claire is also an actress and stand up comedian. She also really loves keyboards and singing. Not surprisingly, she’s best mates with Harry.
Robin Rigoulet – Drums.
A French man with some mysterious dance moves and a way with the ladies. Plus he’s really good at the drums.
Where have they been all my life?
2006
Entirely self managed and promoted two consecutive summer tours of Ibiza’s nightspots.
2007
Showcased new electronic material around London and beyond; secured top-notch management and agents; recorded new material; received airplay on Radio 1 from Rob da Bank and Colin Murray and impressed Groove Armada whilst supporting them on their most recent UK Tour.
2008
With a host of gigs lined up across the UK, a busy summer festival season planned, and some very fine producer’s (such as Groove Armada’s Andy Cato) lining up to work on their new material with them, surely only world domination awaits...
